Can I designate Slovakia through the Madrid System?

Yes. Slovakia is a member of the Madrid System, so applicants filing an international trademark application through WIPO can designate Slovakia as one of the territories where they seek protection. A single international application can include Slovakia alongside many other countries.

When Slovakia is designated, the ÚPV SR examines the request under Slovak national rules, in the same way it would examine a direct national application. If the office raises an objection, or if a third party files an opposition after publication, the standard Slovak procedures apply.
