How often does the trademark need to be renewed?

Every 10 years, in most jurisdictions. This is the standard renewal period globally, covering major markets including the EU, UK, US, Canada, and Australia.

In the US, an additional Declaration of Use must also be filed between the 5th and 6th year after registration. This is a one-time mid-term filing, not a recurring annual requirement.
