How often does the trademark need to be renewed?

In most countries, a trademark needs to be renewed every 10 years to maintain its validity. It's best to start the renewal process before the trademark expires. In most countries, you can start applying 6 months before the expiration date. Failing to renew your trademark within the specified timeframe can result in the loss of its legal protection and potential cancellation or removal from the register.

In the US, you also have to submit a Declaration of Use between the 5th and 6th year after registration and prove you are still using the trademark in commerce.
