What countries are included in the Madrid system?

There are currently 193 World Intelectual Property Organization (WIPO) member states. The full up-to-date list can be found on the WIPO website.

The membership is open to any country that is a member of the Unions, that is, the Paris Union and all special Unions established in relation to the aforementioned, the Berne Union and other internation aggreements directed to advocate for the intellectual property protection. Moreover, the membership is equally open to any member states of the United Nations or a member of any Specialized Agencies associated with the United Nations, the International Atomic Energy Agency or a body of the Statute of the International Court of Justice. Finally, any state that is invited by the General Assembly can become a fully recognised member of WIPO.
