Does an EU trademark protect my mark in every EU country?

Yes, if you choose to register your trademark with the EUIPO, your brand will have protection in each of the member states of the EU. So, for example, if you find out that a 3rd party is copying your brand in Germany, you can claim infringement and stop them from using the brand name/logo.

If a third party files an identical or confusingly similar application with the EUIPO, you will be notified and allowed to oppose the application.

Please remember that countries such as Switzerland or Norway are not a part of the EU. If you wish to protect your brand in these countries, you must file an individual application with the respective IP offices.
