The estimated time frame for full trademark registration depends on the jurisdiction in which you file. Here are the average timelines for some of the most commonly selected regions:

  • U.S. – 12–14 months
  • European Union – 4 months
  • United Kingdom – 4–5 months
  • Canada – 20–25 months
  • China – 12 months
  • Australia – 6–7 months
  • New Zealand – 5 months

Expedited processing is only available in specific cases. If you've already filed a trademark application in one jurisdiction, you have a 6-month window to submit subsequent applications in other jurisdictions using a priority filing. This means your new applications will be treated as if they were filed on the same date as the original—potentially giving you earlier protection without shortening the actual examination time.
