What is the grace period after missing the renewal deadline?

In most jurisdictions, the grace period after a trademark registration expires is six months. During this window, renewal can still be filed, but additional fees usually apply. Some jurisdictions also have different procedures for late renewals. For example, in the UK, these applications must be submitted via post rather than online.

After the grace period closes without a renewal, the trademark lapses and cannot be renewed any longer. Re-establishing protection requires a new trademark application.
