Trademarks and copyrights serve different purposes and protect different types of intellectual property.

A trademark protects the name, logo, or symbol that identifies a brand or company, preventing others from using similar marks that could confuse customers.

A copyright protects original creative works, such as books, music, art, and films. It gives the creator exclusive rights to control how their work is used, reproduced, adapted, or distributed.

To protect a brand, a trademark is the better option. To protect a creative work, use a copyright. In many cases, both are relevant and complementary.
