What leverage will a trademark give me against copycats?

Trademark registration gives the owner legal grounds to approach copycats and infringers with a cease and desist letter, demanding that they stop using a specific brand name or logo.

If the infringing party is not directly copying your brand name or logo, but using a confusingly similar one, you may still have a right to oppose their use if the goods and services are closely connected or adjacent. These situations are case-dependent and require individual assessment.
