Is it possible to file a combined trademark in Australia, or do I need to submit separate filings for the wordmark and the logo?

Yes, theoretically it is possible to file a combined trademark but it does not serve as both a wordmark and a visual mark. However, if your logo includes your brand name, the trademark protection will extend to the name itself. That said, if you want full protection of both the brand name and the visual elements of your logo, it’s always advisable to register both a wordmark and a logo mark separately.
