Registering a trademark with a logo typically provides protection for the visual representation of the logo itself, including any design elements, graphics, or stylized text within the logo. However, it does not provide exclusive rights over the standalone words included in the logo.
To obtain comprehensive protection for the words themselves, regardless of their visual representation, it is advisable to separately register them as a word mark or combination mark. By doing so, you establish exclusive rights to use those specific words or combination of words in connection with your goods or services, regardless of any accompanying logo or visual representation.
While the logo trademark may offer some level of protection for the words within the logo, it is limited to the use of those words within the specific visual context of the logo itself. It does not provide the same broad protection as a standalone word mark registration.
