If you plan to register a trademark in multiple countries but aren't sure about the opposition you might receive, it's generally not better to go with a single country first. Your application will be assessed (and potentially opposed) in each country separately, and the ease of process in one doesn't necessarily have to correspond to your experience in another. You can also have different competitors in different countries.
If you are very risk-averse and feel like applying in a single country would help you get used to the risk, it is possible; however, bear in mind you might lose months of valuable time while you wait for that first trademark to be registered.
