Can you modify classes on an existing trademark?

Classes cannot be changed or replaced after filing. The scope of a trademark application is fixed at the time of submission and can only be narrowed, not modified or expanded.

The only permitted post-filing change to class scope is removing a class; either voluntarily (by filing a partial surrender or withdrawal) or as part of resolving an opposition or office action. If a different or additional class is needed, a new separate application must be filed.
