Yes, it is possible to convert an EU trademark application into national trademark applications of EU member states.

Based on the EUIPO guidelines, the cases where an EU trademark conversion might come in handy is when an EU trademark faces issues with registrability in one or more countries of the EU. The problems can be based on absolute grounds or due to opposition raised by an owner of an earlier trademark in one or more member states of the EU.

The applicant can request an EU trademark conversion into national trademark applications in those countries which are not affected by the opposition. A fee of €200 has to be paid to the EUIPO for such a request.
