An EU trademark is valid for 10 years from the filing date of the application. It can be renewed indefinitely in 10-year increments by paying the renewal fee.

The renewal application can be filed in the six months preceding the expiry date. A grace period of six months after expiry is also available, though a surcharge applies. After the grace period, the trademark lapses and cannot be renewed.
