Can I transfer the ownership of a trademark when renewing it?

Renewal and ownership transfer are separate processes that must be handled independently. A renewal application does not include or record ownership changes; those require a trademark assignment submitted separately to the IP office.

Both can be handled at the same time if instructed to a legal representative, but each carries its own fees and documentation requirements.
