What documents do I need to register a trademark?

You typically don’t need any special documentation to file a trademark application. If you’re a citizen filing in your home jurisdiction, no supporting documents will be required beyond just the application details, such as the mark itself, the owner's legal name and address (these can be your company details), and the goods and services list.

If you’re not filing in your home jurisdiction, you may need to provide proof of identity (passport or ID for individuals, certificate of incorporation for companies). In some jurisdictions, foreigners must also appoint a local representative. Two examples of this are the US and the EU, where applicants must use a US-licensed attorney or an authorized EU/EEA-based representative, respectively.
