How long is the opposition period in the U.S., and what happens during it?

In the United States, the opposition period lasts 1 month following the publication of your trademark application.

During this time, existing trademark owners can file an opposition if they believe your mark is confusingly similar to theirs or could harm their brand. If no oppositions are filed within this window, your application will move forward toward full registration.
