Register in the countries where you currently sell or plan to sell, prioritizing those with the largest customer base and the highest risk of infringement. There is no universal answer; the right markets depend on where your business operates and where brand copying is most likely.

Common starting points for internationally active brands are the EU, US, UK, Canada, Australia, and China. From there, registration can be expanded to additional markets as the business grows. The Madrid System covers 130+ countries and is the most efficient route when registering in multiple markets simultaneously.
