Can you add more classes once you register a trademark?

No. A registered trademark cannot be expanded to cover additional classes. The registration covers exactly the classes that were assessed and approved during the registration process.

To protect the brand in additional classes, a new trademark application must be filed. Each additional application carries its own government fee, goes through its own examination and opposition process, and will have a later priority date than the original registration.
