No, your company does not need to be fully set up before filing a trademark application. You can file as an individual and later transfer ownership of the trademark to your company once it’s established.

If you're filing in the United States and your trademark has not yet been used in commerce, your application must be filed as an Intent-to-Use. This comes with an additional cost of $320, plus $200 per class for the Statement of Use that will be required later in the process.
