Can I modify my trademark at renewal?

The simple answer to this question would be "no". You can only renew the exact same version of the trademark which was registered. The only possible change is reducing the list of goods and services, but that can be done at any time during the mark's validity. The reason it's not possible to change the details of a trademark at renewal is that this modification could potentially infringe upon the rights of the other trademark owners.

If you would like to modify your trademark, you can file a new application with the renewal, and you will have the same expiration date for both. In this case, it is possible to have the two associated trademarks, and if the classes are identical for both trademarks, the fee for the next renewal will be counted just once.
