Can I modify my trademark at renewal?

No. The trademark must be renewed exactly as registered. The only change permitted at renewal is narrowing the goods and services list, which can also be done at any point during the validity period through a partial surrender.

Apart from narrowing them, no changes or additions can be made to the goods and services. The mark itself (name, logo, or combined mark) also cannot be changed. If a modified version of the mark needs protection, a new trademark application must be filed for the updated version.
