Yes, it's advisable to start trademark watching even if your trademark is pending and not fully registered yet.

This is because the validity of a trademark counts from the filing date, not the registration date. During the assessment period, the mark owner is already granted certain rights; for example, they can oppose similar trademark applications filed after theirs. Trademark watching, either performed manually by searching the trademark register or outsourced to a trademark watch service, would help the owner discover these applications.
