From filing to registration, the process typically takes between 3 and 18 months, with some jurisdictions taking up to 27 months. The total time depends on the jurisdiction, the complexity of the application, and whether any objections or oppositions arise.

The two main stages are examination (typically 1 to 10 months) and the opposition period (typically 2 to 3 months). If both proceed without issues, registration follows shortly after. If an office action is issued or an opposition is filed, each adds additional time to the process.
