I received an invoice from IPTO asking for money. Is this legitimate?

No, this is a very common trademark scam.

After your trademark application is filed, certain contact details become public. Unfortunately, this can lead to fraudulent letters or invoices that look official but are not. These scams often request payment for fake services like “publication” or “registration” in unofficial trademark databases.

If you’ve already paid Trama for your registration, you do not need to pay anything else. The best response is to ignore the letter, block the sender, and never share payment details.

If you’re ever in doubt, feel free to contact Trama’s support team to verify the legitimacy of any communication.
