What is the EUIPO fast-track trademark application?

The EUIPO fast-track procedure is an accelerated examination process available to applications that meet specific criteria, primarily that the goods and services list uses pre-approved terminology from the EUIPO's TMclass database.

Applications accepted into the fast-track process are examined within one month of filing, compared to the standard examination timeline. To qualify, the application must contain no irregularities and must use only terms from the harmonized database without any custom or non-standard descriptions.

The fast-track option does not shorten the opposition period, which remains three months from publication regardless of how quickly the application is examined.
