What is the risk of not registering a trademark before or right after starting my business?

If you don't secure your brand with a trademark, you risk a different company getting ahead of you and applying for an identical trademark, which can prevent your mark from being registered.

Moreover, this company could then stop you from using your brand name since you would infringe on their new trademark. The longer you wait, the higher the chance someone with an identical or even similar name might secure their trademark first and cause issues for you.

Therefore, registering your trademark as soon as possible is advisable, especially in those territories where you are commercially active.
