Does the EUIPO notify owners of registered trademarks in the different EU countries about similar applications?

The examiner will notify only those brand owners who hold an EU trademark registration. If a person possesses a trademark in one of the countries of the EU, they won't be notified about your application by the EUIPO.

However, both the owners of the EU trademarks and the national trademark holders have legal grounds to oppose your application. The only difference is that the national trademark holders won't be notified about potential conflicts. They might use other means of tracking similar applications, such as similarity scanning, also called "Trademark watch".
