Any sign capable of distinguishing the goods or services of one business from those of others can be registered as an EU trademark, provided it meets the EUIPO's registrability requirements.

Eligible signs include words, names, slogans, logos, letters, numerals, colors, shapes, sounds, and motion marks, among others. The mark must be represented in the EUIPO register in a clear and precise manner.

However, to ensure the best chances of registration, the mark must not fall under any absolute grounds for refusal. It must be distinctive, not purely descriptive or generic, and must not conflict with public policy, accepted principles of morality, or other protected signs such as national flags or official emblems.
