Does submitting specimen cost extra?

Submitting a specimen of use is only subject to an additional cost if you filed your trademark application on an "intent to use" basis, i.e. if the brand to be protected by the trademark hasn't been commercially active in the US at the time of filing.

If that's the case, you'll be charged $100 per class of goods and services listed on your application. If you have a legal representative submitting the specimens on your behalf, remember their services might also be subject to extra cost.
